Police are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a bronze-coloured Ford Fiesta was killed in a crash yesterday (Wednesday) morning in the Harborough district.

Officers from Leicestershire Police are investigating the two-vehicle crash on the A5, Watling Street, in Claybrooke Parva, which happened at about 8.10am.

The crash involved a bronze Ford Fiesta and a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

A press release issued by police at 11.18am today (Thursday) states: “Were you driving along the A5 in Claybrooke Parva yesterday morning?

“If you were driving along the A5, near to Highcross Road, around 8.10am then please contact us if you witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand.

“If you can help please contact Det Con 1504 Seamus Burns on 101.”

The driver of the Fiesta car was pronounced dead at the scene, said police. No details about the victim, such as their age or sex, have yet been released.
