Trading standards officers visited a Lutterworth town centre shop last week as part of an on-going operation.
The officers, supported by the police, were at the Mercury News Shop in Church Street, Lutterworth.
A County Hall spokesman confirmed the visit by trading standards officers last Thursday afternoon was part of an ongoing investigation. He added that the visit was in connection with illegal cigarettes. Counterfeit cigarettes can be much cheaper than legitimate brands but can also present significant risks to health.
