South Leicestershire Toy Library has bought a new van after receiving a number of grants and donations.
The small charity, headed by Lizzie Keenan, has been supplying toys, games and specialist equipment to pre-school children with disabilities or additional needs in the Harborough area for more than 18 years.
The charity is now looking for people to be part of the trustee group, which oversees the charity’s work. Trustees meet four to five times a year to hear reports on activities and spending of the current BBC Children in Need grant which funds the work.
Jackie Knight, the chairman of the Trustee Board of the charity, said: “It’s a great little charity, and we’ve had support from BBC Children and Need for a number of years now.
“I’ve been on the board for a couple of years, and it suits me very well as my former role was in the library service. All sorts of people volunteer as trustees, and a board made up of a range of backgrounds and skills is what we’re looking for.”
Anyone interested in the charity’s work, or wanting to find out more about the trustee role is invited to the next AGM on Tuesday, September 22, at 121 Coventry Rd, Harborough, between noon and 1pm. Alternatively, phone 01455 209337.
