One of the world’s top darts players will be taking on all-comers at an event in Market Harborough soon.
Andy Hamilton, currently ranked number 14 in the PDC Order of Merit, will be making an appearance at Market Harborough Rugby Club, off Northampton Road, on Saturday, March 28.
And darts fans will get the enviable chance to step up to the oche and challenge one of the world’s highest-ranked players.
Hamilton, who made the final of the PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace in 2012, will take on 16 players throughout the night.
Games against “The Hammer” will be sold, raffled and auctioned off on the night.
The event is being organised by Harborough-based Borough Alliance Football Club to help raise funds for the club.
The event will run from 7pm until 11pm and will include walk-on girls, similar to the player entrances for the glitzy Sky TV darts contests, and a top master of ceremonies. Tickets cost £15.
Kelv Kempster, from Borough Alliance, said: “We’re really excited to have gotten someone of Andy’s calibre, it’s a real coup for us.
“We’re hoping to make the darts nights a regular event and there’s been a lot of interest from darts team across Harborough.”
Stoke-born Hamilton, who has two perfect nine-dart finishes to his name, won his first ranking title in 2007 and has gone on to reach the semi-finals of seven major competitions.
The 47-year-old has also twice qualified for the elite Premier League of Darts.
Tickets are available by calling Kelv on 07880 741 623 or Keith Low on 07968 479 991.
