Timetable for the Hallaton Bottle Kicking event on Easter Monday

The annual Hallaton Bottle Kicking event will take place on Easter Monday (March 28), with Hallaton on a high.

Not only did they beat rivals Medbourne last year, but they are on a winning run, having lost three times in 30 years.

The Bottle Kicking timetable goes like this:

9.30am - Parades in Medbourne.

10am: Children’s parade in Hallaton.

11am: Church service and story of Hare Pie.

12pm: Bands play on Hallaton village green.

1.45pm: Hare pie parade from Hacluits village pond, Hallaton to church gates. Hare pie cut up and distributed. Walk to village buttercross to decorate bottles.

2.45pm: Main parade from Hacluits village pond at top of village, arriving at bottle kicking field about 3.15pm.

3.15pm: Bottle thrown up to start bottle kicking event.

Afterwards, everyone meets on Hallaton village green to celebrate and drink the beer from the bottles.

Temporary road closures will be in place in the village for most of the day, including parts of North End, Hog Lane, High Street, Horn Lane, Eastgate and Medbourne Road.
