Tennis marathon nets profit

Junior members of Market Harborough Tennis Club rallied to raise hundreds of pounds in their smashing 12-hour tennis-athon.

Over fifty youngsters grabbed their rackets and took to the courts in aid of the transplant ward at Leicester General Hospital.

Under the guidance of the club coach Gordon Amos, the aspring Murrays and Williams played tennis continually for 12 hours on all the club courts.

A team of supporters and volunteers provided refreshments to the tired athletes.

The weekend of tennis fun continued with an open day with free tennis coaching and play were offered to the public who wanted to try their strokes.

Anyone interested in the special membership deals on offer to new members throughout May should contact the tennis club as soon as possible.
