Harborough MP Sir Edward Garnier has stressed the need for the rebuilding of Syria after air strikes.
Sir Edward, who backed the air strikes, said in parliament that the military side of the campaign should be completed to make way for the most important phase - “post-conflict stabilisation and the reconstruction of Syria”.
Following the debate, Sir Edward said: “At the moment there is no alternative but to commence air-striking Syria. But this is a short-term goal; defeating Daesh.
“Ultimately we want a reformed Syria where people can go about their everyday business safely,”
