Students from Robert Smyth discussed their embroidery efforts with members of the town’s Embroiderers’ Guild at a prize-giving ceremony.
Each year, members of the Harborough branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild raise money for textiles prizes for students from Robert Smyth Academy.
A group of AS and A-level students, along with teacher Andria Pott, attended a meeting to receive their prizes.
The award winners and other students showed and talked about their work to a very appreciative audience of older stitchers, who then had a chance to look closely at the stunning work on show.
Detailed textile pieces using a wide range of techniques were based on topics from the seaside and jelly fish to architecture and animals.
These students show amazing talent and dedication to produce such inspiring textile art, a credit to their families and their teachers.
The next meeting of the Embroiderers Guild will be a beading workshop on Thursday July, 23. For more information phone 07811 098581.
