Bosom beauties strap on their bras for Welford walk
Pam Sutton died in 2011 at the age of 58 and her daughters Jo and Natalie, with help from two of their mum’s friends Lin Waddilove and Anji Longdin organised a walk in her memory.
The team also held a walk in 2012.
Dozens of walkers joined the event on Sunday, wearing specially-decorated bras and enjoying a choice of a six or three mile rural walk which ended with a barbecue at Welford’s Wharf Inn.
Jo Sutton said: “It was a very nice day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and lots of people came out to support us.
“Mum was in the village WI and also ran the rounders team, so she was well-known in the village, and lots of the people taking part were her old friends and family members.”
The event in 2012 raised about £4,000 and Jo said she has already collected £1,500 from Sunday’s walk with lots of sponsorship still to come in.
She added: “We are hoping to turn this into an annual event now.
“We’re really grateful to everyone who helped out.” The team is still collecting sponsorship money.

Before she passed away in 2011, Pam and her friends organised three Bosom Beauties Walks.
