Pub-goers who helped raise an amazing £8,900 for good causes with a 24-hour sponsored pub quiz have handed the money over.
Fleckney residents supported the event at The Old Crown pub in the village back in June and chief organiser Jeff Pearce arranged a presentation handover earlier this month.
The event was held in memory of Fleckney villagers Lorraine Boulton and Dave Parr.
The money is being split between Leicester hospice charity Loros and Leicester hospitals’ diabetes research. Mr Pearce thanked Chris Collin, Gemma York, Nici Shufflebotham, John Hardman, Simon Boulton and Jenny Dowling, adding: “These guys could do with a mention for their commitment and dedication over several months of organising and putting up with me!”
