Two teachers who work at the same Harborough school celebrated their wedding with a number of special guests when they invited children from their classes along to the ceremony.
Brendan Brannigan and Susannah Cole live in Harborough and are both teachers at Bringhurst Primary School.
The couple met several years ago when Brendan, who is originally from Belfast, took up a job at the village primary school, in Great Easton Road.
They celebrated their wedding at Harborough Baptist Church on Saturday.
Brendan said: “The wedding day was lovely.
“About 200 people attended the service at Harborough Baptist Church, which was led by the Rev Nick Cook.
“Our friends and family came from all over: England, Ireland, Scotland and the US.
“The children from our classes were very excited to see the wedding of their teachers – especially seeing Miss Cole in a wedding dress – so we invited them into the church to witness the marriage.”
The couple met when Brendan began working at Bringhurst Primary School several years ago.
He said: “Susannah had been working there for a year before I arrived. It was a year before we got together and we’ve been together for three years now.”
Mr Brannigan is originally from Belfast. He moved to England in 2010 when he studied a PGCE at Carlisle University in 2010 and worked in North Yorkshire before Bringhurst.
Susannah is from Harborough and her grandfather was barber Les Tooms. She studied at Sheffield Hallam University before returning to the town and beginning teaching at Bringhurst.
