A Santa fun run is returning to Harborough for the second time next Sunday (December 13).
Following last year’s successful sell-out event, the Santa Fun Run this year has doubled its numbers – but places are going quickly with 300 of the 500 places already taken.
The 2015 run will welcome about 500 Father Christmas-clad runners dashing around Welland Park to raise money for Harborough-area charity, the Squires Effect.
The run, organised by Race Harborough and sponsored by Snap Fitness, costs £12 for an adult registration and £6 for under-16s.
Family bundle tickets are also available, as well as free registration for infants (two and under) and dogs.
Santa costumes come included with all registration prices.
The Santa Fun Run will begin outside the Welland Park Café at 2pm with entrants free to run either the 5km or 2km race. All finishers get a medal.
Brian Corcoran, from Race Harborough, is hoping to repeat the success of last year’s event. He said: “Last year was a great day and it was all for a good cause. The support that we got from the Market Harborough residents was fantastic.
“This year we want to double the money raised for Squires Effect. This means that our target for this year is £5,000 and we are encouraging all entrants to raise just £10 each.”
