A former rugby player turned fundraiser visited pupils at St Joseph’s Primary School in Harborough to talk about his life.

Matt Hampson was a former Leicester Tigers player who dislocated his neck during a practice session.

His visit to St Joseph’s was organised by a parent Mark Trinder, in collaboration with ITV.

Headteacher Karen McVea said: “Once Matt had spoken about the accident and his life since, he took questions. He was extremely open and honest and none of the questions asked by the children fazed him.”
