Market Harborough Rugby Club hosted the England rugby team’s Wear the Rose tour vehicle on Sunday, fully laden with its high-tech Oculus Rift virtual reality technology that has been developed to help rugby training sessions.
The club is one of only seven nationwide lucky enough to gain the opportunity after recently winning a competition run by England’s shirt sponsors O2.
Club member and competition winner Paul Blackler said: “Youngsters, coaches and parents had a chance to experience this world-leading tech, which allows you to feel like you are part of the team, being able to see all around you and hear the drills and instructions.
“We all had a brilliant time, with the O2 team ensuring everyone had a go, or several goes as was the case for some of the girls.
“They really helped to make it a brilliant event.”
