Market Harborough’s Robert Smyth Academy has reopened today (Tuesday) following a full closure yesterday.
A burst water main meant that all 1,050 pupils were sent home on Monday morning.
It was discovered that the school had no running water, due to a leak in the Burnmill Road area resulting in the water supply being cut off locally.
The academy reopened this morning.
In a statement on the school’s website, Principal Sue Jones said: “The Academy will be open as usual on Tuesday 1st March. Severn Trent have now restored our water supply.
“More information about the situation can be found on Severn Trent’s website.
“Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
