A resident has been left with facial and leg injuries after being attacked in his Harborough home by a burglar.
Police are treating the incident as aggravated burglary and armed officers were sent to the area last night (Wednesday) to help in the hunt for the assailant.
The attack happened in Ireton Road at about 9.30pm.
The injured resident was taken to Kettering General Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
No arrests have yet been made.
Police provided no further details.
