Dig out your ‘80s attire and join Harborough ladies’ choir ‘The Dolly Mixtures’ for their Atomic! 80s gig in aid of two local charities.
The Dolly Mixtures will perform ‘80s hits at the family-friendly show at Harborough Rugby Club on Northampton Road on Saturday June 27 from 7pm. The choir, backed by live band, will treat the audience to a selection of new arrangements of ‘80s classics by artists such as Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Bon Jovi and Wham! Gig-goers can then dance the night away to an ‘80s disco.
The new June date comes after the gig was postponed from December last year. Audience fancy dress is encouraged, with prizes for the most imaginative outfits. The event is in aid of two local bereavement charities - Ian’s Chain and The Laura Centre in Leicester.
The Dolly Mixtures is an amateur choir founded in 2013 that performs for charity. Last year, the ladies raised £1,200 for Ian’s Chain and the Laura Centre. Tickets cost £5 and are available from MH Music on St Mary’s Road and MH Rugby Club on Northampton Road.
