A group of railway enthusiasts in Market Harborough are getting ready to celebrate their 30th year of existence and will start the milestone year with a meeting on Wednesday, January 7.
The Harborough Railway Association was formed by six ex-British Rail men in 1985, shortly after the closure of the last signal-boxes at Harborough train station.
They first met at the old United Trades and Labour Club in High Street, now the Zizzi restaurant.
They now meet at Market Harborough Conservative Club in Fairfield Road.
The first meeting of the year is an all-steam film show featuring speaker Graham Briggs from 8pm on January 7.
Admission is free for members and visitors. There will also be a raffle.
