One of the country’s finest brass quintets is playing a one-off concert at St Mary’s Church in Lutterworth later this month.
Kensington Brass have performed at Buckingham Palace, Southwark Cathedral, the Royal Albert Hall, St John Smith’s Square, Kensington Gardens and in many of the Royal College of Music’s chamber music series.
The concert takes place on Saturday, March 19, from 7.30pm.
The quintet will be performing a uniquely arranged collection of music from the Baroque through the ages and interspersed with classic brass quintet pieces that have paved the way for these ensembles to reach the fore of modern day chamber music making.
With them will be special guest Michael Lessiter. Born in Leicester, Michael studied at the City of Leicester College of Education. Since his debut with the D’Oyly Carte Opera, he has performed and recorded over a wide spectrum of music. Now a member of the Royal Opera Company in London, he has previously appeared with Opera North, Wexford Festival Opera, Dublin Grand Opera Society, Kent Opera and Opera della Luna.
Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions), including a glass of wine or soft drink, from John Wells & Son, Station Road, Lutterworth or 01455 556616.
