Pupils from Lutterworth High School bring Christmas cheer to elderly people at a care home

Musical pupils in Lutterworth have put a smile on the faces of elderly people at a care home as they helped to spread festive cheer.

More than 35 students aged from 11-15 from Lutterworth High School popped in to Woodmarket Care Home.

The youngsters performed a medley of songs, including ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ and ‘Hallelujah’, as well as solos to entertain delighted residents and staff.

Lucy Sendall, the activities coordinator at Woodmarket, said: “Our residents thought they were very brave and a fabulous bunch – they loved it.

“We would love to see more performances!

“The students were great – they were all happy to talk and mingle with our lovely residents.”

A Lutterworth High School spokeswoman said: “The afternoon was enjoyed by all and will continue to be an annual tradition.”
