Members of Harborough Constituency Labour party were at Market Harborough’s rail station this morning (Monday), protesting at the rise in fare prices.

Party members were handing out postcards to commuters and passengers that highlighted the increase in rail fares over the past five years, claiming the prices rises were being used to subsidise rail transport in other countries because many operating private companies ran foreign state railways.

The leafletting was part of a national Labour campaign calling for a return of a publicly-owned railway.
