A school is celebrating after being rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
The staff and management committee of Welford Pre-School are delighted after inspectors gave them an outstanding rating.
Staff at the pre-school work extremely hard to get to know children individually and cater to their individual interests and learning needs. This was recognised in the report, which said: “Extremely well-planned activities that closely follow children’s interests provide high quality learning experiences for them, both inside and outside.”
Some other highlights from the report include: “Children form exceptional relationships with the staff” and “parents receive individual support to help their child settle in and the close relationship continues throughout the family’s involvement with the pre-school.”
Lucy Kilham, a parent who has had two children attend the pre-school, said: “Welford Pre-School is a real ‘home from home’ for our little ones – they are welcomed and loved by the fantastic staff from the day they arrive.
“They are made to feel very much part of a family and the transition to school is made so much easier as a result.”
The pre-school is a registered charity and is run by a management committee of parents.
It is on the site of Welford, Sibbertoft and Sulby Endowed School and pre-school and reception pupils shared joined-up play once a week.
