Popular south Leicestershire health visitor dies

Sylvia Rattan (nee Jervis) passed away on February 20 in the intensive care unit at Kettering General Hospital after a short illness. She was 82.

Her daughter Sharon Jervis said: “Mum will be remembered by many locally as a health visitor in the early seventies to mid nineties.

“She covered the villages between Kibworth and Market Harborough.”

Sharon Jervis said her mother would be well known to hundreds of people whose homes she visited.

“Her loving care and support touched the lives of many of her patients” said Sharon.

Mrs Rattan leaves behind her husband David, her children Sharon and Garry Jervis, and her two grandchildren Sam and Lucy.

She was also stepmother to David’s two boys James and Jim.

Mrs Rattan had lived for many years in Foxton.

Her funeral will take place today, Friday March 4, at 2pm at St Andrew’s Church Foxton, with an internment afterwards.
