The authority is laying on its first special green bin collection this week with another one starting next Monday (January 18) for thousands of green bin subscribers.

“There will be an extra green bin collection week commencing 11 & 18 Jan 2021 (on your normal recycling collection day), for current garden waste collection subscribers, when real Christmas trees can be recycled.

“Please ensure they are sawn & put in your green bin with lid closed,” tweeted the council.
