Some £10,230 has helped install new play equipment in the popular play area at Malsbury Avenue.

And £23,830 was pumped in to help improve the churchyard at All Saints Church by creating disabled access and setting up lighting to footpaths.

The funding is provided by local developers for community projects and social infrastructure.

Cllr Simon Whelband, Harborough District Council’s cabinet member for communities, said: “These grants will really enhance facilities in the village and create tangible improvements for the benefit of local people.

“Since 2015 we have allocated over £2 million from section 106 funds for projects across the whole district – with much more to come.”

Organisations from areas with Section 106 funding are invited to submit grant applications.

Details of these areas are available on the council's website at www.harborough.gov.uk/grants
