A pub in Kibworth Beauchamp has had its licence suspended after a stabbing in the street nearby.
Police have asked Harborough District Council to review the premises licence of the The Old Swan pub, following the incident in High Street on April 17.
The review means the pub can no longer sell alcohol, pending a future council decision.
The pub was shut this week, with a notice on the door explaining the situation to customers.
The pub’s near neighbours interviewed by The Mail had some sympathy for new manager and licensee Guy Oliver.
“He’s tried to turn that business round” said one. “They’re not noisy neighbours” said another. “But they can attract the wrong customers.”
