The Saturday Festival, in a huge marquee on Symington’s Recreation Ground off St Mary’s Road, featured local bands as well as three top cover bands - Oasish, Coldplace and Queen cover band Flash.

Lee Storey of Fake Festivals said Market Harborough was one of 36 towns the cover bands company was visiting this year, “from Southampoton to Perth”.

“Once people have seen us, they see what a good night this is. We hope to be back in Market Harborough next year.”

Audience reaction on Saturday night was very good.

“It’s been brilliant. The local bands were strong too” Adrian Goode from Wilbarston told the Mail.

“A bit under-populated, but good bands, very friendly - what Harborough’s been waiting for” said Lee Adams, from Market Harborough.

“I don’t think local people understood what a good night they have got here” said Cheryl Sawyer, from Market Harborough.

“We were here for 2pm and it’s been great, but maybe should have been advertised better” said Mo Jarosz from Market Harborough.
