Brave youngster Phoebe McCoy will be cutting off part of her hair and donating it to a cancer charity that makes wigs for children suffering from the disease, in a bid to raise charity funds in memory of her dad.
Phoebe’s father lost his battle with cancer last year, and the Market Harborough girl has decided that she wants to raise money in his memory.
She will be donating 11 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make real hair wigs for children having chemotherapy for cancer treatment .
The charity hair cut will take place today at Market Harborough Football Club, between 6pm and 8pm, with a party afterwards.
Phoebe’s mum Amanda said that they want to help families going through what they went through.
She added that donations or sponsorships would be appreciated.
Entrance to the fundraising event is £2 for children.
