A person was taken to hospital after a crash in the Harborough district yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Firefighters from Billesdon were called to the scene of a road crash in Uppingham Road in the village at about 1.15pm.

No-one was trapped inside the vehicle but two people were injured.

One casualty was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary in an ambulance, said the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

Meanwhile, a fire crew from Wigston was called out to another incident in our district at 11.32pm last night.

Firefighters attended Edgehill Crescent in Great Glen after a car caught fire.

Two breathing apparatus and one high-pressure hose reel were used to put out the flames, said the report log.

The cause of the fire was an electrical fault and it destroyed the car’s engine compartment, as per the log.
