The historic charity is working alongside Leicestershire’s LOROS Hospice – and the town’s Jubilee Foodbank could also be based there.

One of the charity’s Trustees, Gordon Kellie, would like to hear from local organisations which would like to back the scheme.

“It is very early days.

“But we are working with LOROS to assess the feasibility of establishing a Wellbeing Centre here in Harborough.

“It would be built on Northampton Road on land not being used by our allotment holders and would not impact on them,” said Gordon.

“As well as LOROS it could provide a permanent home for the Jubilee Food Bank.

“We are keen to hear from other charities operating in the Harborough community which could be part of this exciting initiative.

“As well as serving the immediate needs of Market Harborough, Great Bowden and Little Bowden in the period following the Covid-19 epidemic, we feel it is important to focus on a longer-term project which could really make a difference to our town.”
