Harborough council chairman is warming up to pedal a gruelling 61 miles for charity – without leaving his back garden

The chairman of Harborough council is warming up to pedal a gruelling 61 miles for charity – without leaving his back garden.

Cllr Stephen Bilbie will get on his bike for the sponsored virtual ride around the district at 8.30am on Saturday September 19.

A district councillor for Fleckney ward since 2015, Stephen will remotely start and finish at Market Harborough’s Old Grammar School.

He is setting out to raise £500 for his chosen charity Vista, which works with people with sight loss and their families in Leicestershire.

His virtual journey will take him to Lutterworth, Ullesthorpe, Broughton Astley, Dunton Bassett, Fleckney, the Kibworths, Great Glen, Houghton on the Hill, Billesdon, and Hallaton.

Along the way Stephen will speed past Lubenham, Theddingworth, Husbands Bosworth, North Kilworth, Walcote, Bitteswell, Leire, Frolesworth, Ashby Magna, Willoughby Waterleys,

Peatling Magna, Arnesby, Little Stretton, Great Stretton and Tugby.
