Then Leicestershire County Council is inviting you to go along to its first ‘find out about fostering’ event of 2020.

The council hosts monthly get-togethers to tell prospective foster carers about the incredibly rewarding role.

The next one will be staged on Thursday evening (Jan 9) at County Hall in Glenfield.

Events are held at County Hall in Glenfield (LE3 8SA)

Each event is relaxed and informal.

Current carers will be there to talk about how providing foster care can make a real difference to the life of a young person.

Cllr Ivan Ould, county council cabinet member for children and families, said: “Our ‘find out about fostering’ events are a perfect opportunity for people thinking about fostering to gather information in a relaxed atmosphere.

“Our friendly team will discuss the process and dispel any myths about fostering to help people to decide if fostering is for them.”

He added: “Foster carers come from all sorts of backgrounds.

“So if you’re interested in changing lives we really would encourage you to get in touch.”

Events are held at County Hall in Glenfield (LE3 8SA) from 6.30pm-8pm - with plenty of tea and biscuits!

When you arrive at County Hall, please park in the visitors' car park and gp to the main reception for 6.15pm.
