Market Harborough Sea Cadets are staging the special get-together at St Dionysius Church hall from 7pm.

The flourishing youth organisation has launched a recruitment drive because it has spaces available for new cadets in years 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Commanding Officer Lt Shane Daly said: “If your students or children would be interested in finding out about the Sea Cadets and how to join then please come along and see us.”

The Sea Cadets meet weekly in Harborough.

And during the summer the sailing, rowing and boating activities get started so the unit will be out on the water most weekends.

Children and teenagers from 10-18 can take part in a wide range of competitions.

They range from power boating and sailing to football, music and drill.

You’ll also be able to learn vital nautical and maritime skills as you complete your training.

If you can’t make it tonight and you’d like to find out more you can contact Shane at [email protected] or on 0300 365 2011
