This amazing photo of a passing comet was taken just outside Market Harborough.

Adam Garon, a student at the University of Nottingham studying electronic engineering, and George Martin, studying physics at The University of Manchester, used a telescope to photograph Comet Neowise on July 19-20.

Many people have been watching the comet with the naked eye as it travelled through our skies last month.

Adam said: "Whilst the Neowise comet was visible from earth, my friend George Martin and I used a telescope to photograph the comet.

"The photos were processed in a professional manner and a case study on image processing is being written also."
