Kev, of Brooklands Gardens, Harborough, said: “We had a fantastic time.

“We have raised £1,100 for Sport Relief, a brilliant cause, so every minute on our feet was worthwhile.”

Captain of the Conservative Club’s pool team, he said he was fuelled by a good old English cuppa or two.

“I drank 32 cups of tea to keep me going!

“We got a pizza in at one in the morning,” said Kev, a maintenance engineer.

“And the stewards John and Sarah, who were lifesavers, served up bacon and sausage baps on Saturday morning.

“We finally wound up at seven on Saturday night and then took part in a sports quiz.

“It was my 61st birthday on Sunday – what a way to celebrate!

“I stayed in bed till 2.30pm before nipping out for a meal with my wife Nicola.

“I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored us and Dransfields for supplying the table as well as John and Sarah for looking after us.”
