The mum of a 16-year-old girl who has spina bifida and hydrocephalus is organising a fundraiser for charities that have supported her and her daughter.
Kate Thomas and her friend Claire Grudgings, both from Lutterworth, are organising the a party to raise funds for Shine and the MS Society.
Shine has provided help and support to Kate’s daughter Sophie and to Kate herself when Sophie was born.
Kate said that she would attend coffee mornings organised by Shine and that in the past Sophie has been taken to the Curve theatre in Leicester with Shine.
Claire has chosen the MS Society as a second charity to support because a close friend of hers suffers from the disease.
In the past the pair have raised funds by taking part in sponsored runs.
The party is being held at Lutterworth Golf Club in Rugby Road on Saturday, June 15.
Tickets cost £10 and can be bought in advance from Flackies butchers in Church Street, Lutterworth.
They can also be bought on the day itself for £15.
This cost includes food.
People can go in fancy dress if they like and there will also be a disco and bar with prizes for the best dressed.
There will also be a raffle with some top prizes donated by town businesses.
To donate a prize, call Kate on 07790 411113.
Spina bifida is a developmental congenital disorder caused by the incomplete closing of the embryonic neural tube which leads to physical complications.
