That two-day madcap marathon the Kilworth Challenge last weekend raised more than £40,000 for charity.
The total of £40,395 was raised, despite a lower-than-usual number of competing teams at the annual event.
Organiser Nick Otter said: “We had a few teams who had to drop out, but the remaining teams did really, really well with the money-raising.
“One team of young women, called Victorious Secret, raised £6,453 on their own, which is remarkable.”
The same team also won the all-female team competition, while a team called E For Idiot won overall.
Teams of four compete in physical, mental and downright daft challenges over two days, covering 20 miles a day.
Two-thirds of the money raised goes to children’s charities, while the other third goes to local Kilworth causes.
Nick said special thanks were due to sponsors Kilworth House Hotel and Theatre, and to the Air Training Crops Cadets who helped local volunteers marshall the event.
