Market Harborough Building Society’s Charitable Foundation has awarded £8,700 to nine deserving causes in its latest round of donations.
The foundation was formed in 1999 to support community projects in and around the Harborough district.
The recipients for 2014 were announced this week.
They are The Victoria Hall, Oakham, (£500) for kitchen refurbishment; Age UK Northamptonshire (£1,000) for new chairs for its day centre; Cransley Hospice Trust in Kettering (£500) to replace windows; Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough (£500) for a Cuddle Cot; Lakelands Hospice (£1,000) towards a new mini-bus; Market Harborough Youth and Community Trust’s The Cube youth centre (£2,000) towards the costs of its new building at Symington’s Recreation Ground in town; 1st Bowden Scout Group (£1,000) for equipment; 1st Market Harborough Scout Group ( £1,000) for kitchen equipment; Glen Parva Parish Council (£1,200)for floor refurbishment.
