Another new independent shop has opened in thriving Market Harborough.
Housekeeping has moved to the former home of kitchen, bedroom and bathroom designers Martins of Harborough, at 6 Northampton Road.
Housekeeping was based in the Stoneygate area of Leicester for the past two years.
Owner and manager Lisa Johnson, who is originally from Glasgow, and now lives in Kibworth, said the shop sells “everyday household objects that are beautiful”.
The stock includes household and kitchen items, blankets and cushions, bath and body products, stationery and gifts.
Lisa said: “We stock items that have stood the test of time and we hope will be passed down to the next generation. I like Harborough. It’s a busy market town and it’s where I shop”.
The shop is open between 10.30am and 5pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays. The shop has a website too, at www.housekeepingstore.co.uk.
Harborough has so far largely defied the national recession and the move away from high street shopping.
