A new dog agility club for all standards and breeds has opened in Arnesby.

The Celfee Agility Club, which runs on Monday nights, was launched at Fleckney Road in the village last month.

It is being organised and instructed by Steve Seale who has enjoyed national competition success while competing with his own dogs at the Royal Canine Masters, Barbour Knockout, Pedigree Chum Advanced Dog of the Year and Crufts to name a few.

Steve retired from serious competition in 1996 to concentrate on family life, bringing up his two children.

That is until 2011 when he started teaching agility again and founded the Celfee Agility Club in Thurlaston, Leicestershire.

The club has gone from strength to strength and has enjoyed great success with a variety of different breeds and dogs from rescue centres and now has members competing successfully at shows across the county at junior and senior level.

With this success, it has now branched out to Fleckney where the club is open to complete beginners or for dog/handler teams that already have experience in agility but want to develop skills further. All breeds are welcome.

Jo, who trains at Celfee Agility, said: “It has been brilliant for my springer spaniel who had done agility elsewhere but was bored. Taking her here has motivated her and it has been fantastic seeing all the other club members improve so much no matter what type of dog they have. “It is positive training methods which are adapted to suit the dogs so everyone learns, I highly recommend it.”

Another member, Chris, who has trained with the club for 18 months, said: “Since starting agility with Celfee, my dog and I have built up a fantastic bond. Training in the relaxed atmosphere lets you develop your style with fantastic teaching points, from a knowledgeable trainer.

“Practicing is fun with loads of play and we both really look forward to going.”
