Two generations of a Market Harborough family have all passed their music exams – which they took on the same day last month.

Dad Ed Moncrief took his Grade 8 saxophone, daughter Daisy (17), took her Grade 8 flute, daughter Charlotte (15), took her Grade 7 trumpet and son Tom (10), took his Grade 3 cornet.

All were taught by music teacher Graham Henderson who spent many hours helping them to pass. The quartet also performed as a family for the first time in November when they played Elton John’s Electricity at a Great Bowden Recital Trust community concert.

Dentist Ed, who owns the 2th dental practice in Northampton Road in town, said: “It was a lot of hard work and we often had to practice in different parts of the house, which could be very noisy! It was fantastic being on stage with all my children and I was very proud when we all passed our exams.”
