Motorcyclist killed in A5 collision near Lutterworth


A motorcyclist died last night in a collision with a car on the A5 near Lutterworth.

The accident happened at around 6.15pm on Tuesday, December 29 on the A5, about a mile north of the roundabout junction with the A4303.

The collision involved two vehicles, a red Suzuki motorcycle and a green Rover Mini. The 51-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to University Hospitals of Coventry NHS Trust for treatment to her injuries which were described as minor.

The road was closed for several hours while officers from East Midlands Serious Collision Unit and emergency services dealt with the collision.
