A talented maths prodigy from a Harborough school has been selected to represent the UK in an international contest.
Liam Hughes (17), a student in Year 13 at Robert Smyth Academy, has been picked for the UK’s six-person team that will compete in the Master of Mathematics competition in Romanian next month.
It is being held in Bucharest from February 25 until March 1. The rest of the UK’s team is comprised of boys from top fee-paying schools and the team leaders are from Oxford University and Eton College.
Liam, who lives in Desborough, also represented the country last year at the International Maths Olympiad which was held in South Africa.
