They took valauble items such as chainsaws and strimmers from Diamond Mowers Ltd in Sutton Court, Bath Street, Market Harborough, at about 5.20am.

The burglars took about 15 minutes to get through the business’s tight security, so managing director Colin Smith hopes people would have spotted them and might come forward as witnesses.

“There were shift workers coming in and out about that time and there are houses nearby so someone might have seen something,” he added.

“We have watched the CCTV back and it shows them turning up in a BMW One Series and then breaking into the unit, before moving it into a van in the next courtyard.”

The business employs five people, and Mr Smith added: “It’s a big blow to us and a big loss for the company.”

The company is insured but staff now have a nervous wait to see what the insurance company will do next.
