Young choirs sang their hearts out at Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough last weekend, in aid of older people’s charity Royal Voluntary Service.

Members of the Great Bowden Recital Trust’s Youth Flute Choir, Youth Vocal Choir and Youth Choir Juniors were taking part in Sing Your Heart Out – a national campaign launched by the charity.

Funds raised at the event will be spent on developing services run by Royal Voluntary Service for older people in the Harborough area.

John Pearson, Royal Voluntary Service’s chief operating officer, said: “Music and singing can have such a great impact on the life of an older person.

“And every penny raised here will help older people to live independent and fulfilled lives.”
