Maughan appeared at Leicester Magistrates Court earlier this month, on December 10, where he was granted conditional bail by the magistrates.
He is now due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on January 7.
Maughan will face eight charges altogether.
There are three charges of possessing indecent images of children and three charges of distributing indecent images of children.
There is also one charge of taking indecent photographs of children and one charge of inciting children to distribute indecent images of themselves.
The charges relate to the possession and distribution of images of children at levels A,B and C.
