The majority of people in a Harborough village have been reconnected after they suddenly lost their internet and phone lines last Thursday afternoon after a freak incident.

An Openreach spokesman said most villagers have now been connected back up to the outside world after their engineers “worked hard” on Saturday and Sunday to solve the problem.

As we reported last week, children couldn’t do their virtual school classwork while home-workers were also left high and dry after the cable was accidentally cut during work by the Market Harborough-Lutterworth A4304 road.
