Kibworth Fire Station faces closure as part of cost cutting measures by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

It was announced yesterday (Wednesday) that Kibworth and Leicester Central stations are likely to shut in a bid to make £3 million of savings.

The fire service is also proposing to replace 11 fire engines with three tactical response vehicles and make nearly 90 redundancies.

A public consultation is likely to be held later this month.
