Hunt is on for Harborough’s Got Talent stars

Whether you’re a tap-dancer or singer or have a particularly exceptional pet dog, now is the time to submit your entry for the town’s fourth annual talent competition.

Audition dates for the 2015 Harborough’s Got Talent event, which has attracted hundreds of entrants since its inception in 2012, have been confirmed this week.

And a prize of £500 awaits the winner of this year’s entertainment battle.

It is open to groups and individuals who live within a 20-mile radius of Market Harborough.

The preliminary round is taking place at Market Harborough Conservative Club, in Fairfield Road, from 11am on Saturday, March 7.

Those who qualify will then go on to the final, which is thsi year taking place at Harborough’s Welland Park Academy theatre on Saturday, April 25.

There are also prizes of £100 for the runner-up and £50 for the third-placed finisher.

Both the preliminary round and the final are open to the public to watch.

The competition is organised by Harborough non-profit organisation Stage by Stage Events, which holds events throughout the year to raise funds for local and national charities.

This year’s contest will again be raising funds for Market Harborough Musical Theatre and community radio station Harborough FM.

Chief organiser Eleanor Shepherd said: “I can’t believe this is our fourth year and we at Stage by Stage are excited to see what talent comes forward.

“The prelims are fantastic; you just don’t know what the acts are going to do and it’s inspiring and entertaining at the same time.

“As well as giving talented performers a stage and a chance to win an fantastic first, second and third prize, we are able to give back to the community by supporting HFM and Market Harborough Musical Theatre.
