Dignity awards for district residential homes

CARE homes in the Harborough area have earned new dignity awards.

Lenthall House in Harborough and Woodmarket House in Lutterworth are among the first to achieve the Leicestershire County Council designation and will received their awards at a County Hall reception on Tuesday.

The two privately-run homes are among 12 in the county to get the award.

Dave Houseman, the council’s cabinet member for adults and communities, said: “I was delighted to present the first awards to these nursing and residential homes and they are to be congratulated for their efforts.

“We want to drive up the number of homes providing high-quality services in Leicestershire.”

Both homes were transferred from local authority control to private firm Southend Care in October last year.
